Presentation abstract: F5 helps organisations create an agile infrastructure that ensures people, applications, and data can adapt to business changes and scale seamlessly with any level of growth. Since 1997, F5 and Oracle have collaborated to deliver market-leading Application Delivery Networking solutions. Through alliance programs enabling product alignment, certification, and joint development, Oracle customers can optimise their application infrastructure with F5. This can yield performance gains of up to 5 times for their web and enterprise applications, thus improving user experiences, productivity and return on investment.

During our presentation you will learn about the efficient deployment of an integrated infrastructure for Oracle 10g application server and Oracle Collaboration Suite using F5 technology for a construction company. F5 and the customer were able to achieve high availability and improved application performance, whilst simplifying the IT infrastructure and reducing management resources.

While F5 Application Delivery Networking solutions can be applied to almost any Oracle Technology and Application deployment, Oracle and F5 have jointly documented the interoperability of F5 with Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle Application Server (OCS), Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), Siebel, and PeopleSoft. Oracle themselves use F5 devices for Oracle.com and all of their internal and external enterprise applications for their employees worldwide.

Speaker biography: Calvin Rowland is the Senior Director of Business Development at F5 Networks. In this role, he is primarily responsible for overseeing F5’s global alliances with Independent Software Vendors and Technology Alliance partners. Rowland’s team charter is to collaborate with leading vendors such as Microsoft, Oracle, SAP, and others to enhance the application optimization capabilities of F5’s Application Delivery Networking solutions. Prior to joining F5, Rowland was with DataChannel in a Business Development capacity. He has been in the technology industry for 15 years, and holds both B.S. and M.S. degrees in Industrial Technology from California Polytechnic University.
